CCNY Joins Nations鈥檚 First Offical Heritage Rose District

The 162 year-old institution is now part of the nation鈥檚 first official 鈥淗eritage Rose District.鈥 A variety of heritage roses including the rare 鈥淕reen Rose鈥 were planted by a group of CCNY officials, Heritage Rose Foundation members and community residents on the west side of the 35-acre campus, along Amsterdam Avenue (between 135th and 136th Streets) on October 24. CCNY Alum Stefanie Joshua鈥檚 鈥淏ushwick Homecomings鈥 Debuts on Cable TV

Two years ago, while working on her M.A. thesis about delinquency in Bushwick, Stefanie Joshua, a City College student with no filmmaking experience, decided that the socio-economic plight of her old neighborhood could make a good documentary. The sociology student, who completed her degree in 2005, took a filmmaking class and wrote, produced and directed 鈥淏ushwick Homecomings,鈥 a 38-minute film about the Brooklyn neighborhood鈥檚 social and economic changes between 1970 and 2000. NSF Funding Surge Accelerates Research Growth At CCNY

T九色视频 (CCNY) is experiencing a surge in funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Since August 1 members of the College鈥檚 faculty have received 22 grants from NSF totaling $8.9 million.
