" Nueva York ," CUNY TV's Spanish-language cultural series created and produced by City College film Professor Jerry Carlson , won two New York Emmy Awards at the 57th Annual Awards Ceremony at the Marriot Marquis March 30. The members of the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences recognized the show for the fifth time as the Best Magazine Program. City College of New York freshman Fariha Hussain and sophomore Kachael Stocks have received Jeannette K. Watson Fellowships for 2014. Now in its 15th year, the Watson Fellowship program provides summer internships, professional development opportunities and mentoring for outstanding undergraduate students from 12 select New York City colleges and universities. Award-winning producers Richard Martin and Alia Jones-Harvey and voiceover guru Evan Malter are among noted professionals teaching media and theatrical courses this spring in T��ɫ��Ƶ's Continuing and Professional Studies (CPS) program. City College of New York senior chemical engineering major Alla Zamarayeva, a 2013 Goldwater Scholar, and six recent CCNY graduates have been awarded National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships. Ms. Zamarayeva, a native of Ukraine who will graduate in May, has been admitted to PhD programs at University of California – Berkeley, Stanford University, Princeton University and the University of Texas to study materials science and electrical engineering.
