CCNY Students Scoop International Prize with 鈥淪mart Sockets鈥

"Smart Bridge Sockets," a home energy management system that enables residential consumers to efficiently and autonomously manage home appliances, earned three City College of New York electrical engineering students first place in an international competition at the United Nations. The portable device was developed by Erzhena Badmatsyrenova (junior), Gayashan Fernando (senior) and Anna McGilloway (sophomore) in City College's Zahn Innovation Center . Roosevelt Institute Publishes Five CCNY Student Policy Papers

For the second year running, seven City College of New York student members of the Roosevelt Institute have had five papers accepted for publication in the Institute鈥檚 annual 鈥10 Ideas Series鈥 coming out in April. The booklet is a compilation of papers by Roosevelt student chapter members from the progressive non-profit organization鈥檚 more than 120 affiliated campuses. Inaugural CUNY Theatre Festival at CCNY Draws Stars

Pulitzer-Prize winning poet winning author Tracy K. Smith will be the featured guest poet at the 43rd annual City College of New York Poetry Festival, Friday, May 8. The all-verse event runs 9:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Aronow Theater, located in CCNY鈥檚 NAC building. CCNY Students to Build Native American Community Center in S. Dakota

In recent years, T九色视频's Engineers Without Borders-USA student chapter has spent summers and winter break working on water distribution and sanitation projects in rural Honduras. This winter, the chapter will extend its goodwill closer to home and help build a green and sustainable community center on a reservation.
