"How Things Work," an eco-literacy conference on how environmental systems function in the face of climate change, takes place at T��ɫ��Ƶ on Tuesday, March 5. Talk show host and author Tavis Smiley’s eponymous daily program is coming to WHCR 90.3 FM, t��ɫ��Ƶ owned and operated radio station dubbed “The Voice of Harlem.” WHCR will be the only station in New York City carrying the weekend edition of the Tavis Smiley Show. Researchers from T��ɫ��Ƶ and other institutions, including CUNY’s Advanced Science Research Center, are the beneficiaries of a $650,000 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to develop evaporation-driven generators that can produce clean, renewable energy. T��ɫ��Ƶ is the recipient of a $5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education to propel its advancement to the level of a doctoral university with very high research activity (R1), as defined by Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, through the Translational Research Excellence Across Disciplines (TREAD) project. CCNY is currently classified as R2, a doctoral university with high research activity.
