Jessy J. Pérez

Jessy J. Pérez, M.L.S, M.A. is a graduate of t¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ with a B.A and M.A in Spanish, and a Master in Library Science, with an Archives Concentration from Queens College. She assists the Chief Archivist in all matters related to the operations of the CUNY Dominican Studies Institute archival program. Ms. Pérez performs the duties of the Chief Archivist during his absence in an acting capacity as well as her regular duties. She has over ten years of archival and practical and supervisory experience, under the direction of former Chief Archivist Idilio Gracia Peña. Ms. Pérez surveys, appraises, accessions, processes, arranges, preserves, digitizes and provides access to archival materials relating to the Dominican population in the United States. She is also responsible for authoring descriptions for archival collections. In addition to her archivist duties, Ms. Pérez supervises the Archives' college assistants, work-study students, interns and volunteers. 
 

Jhostin Garzón Lache

Mr. Garzón Lache is a student at T¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ. He assists in the processing of archival materials; describes contents of archival collections; performs digital entry of archival and research materials into excel files; and digitizes various archival collections. He also performs the following functions for the Dominican Library: answers telephones; assists researchers and interns with searches and answers general questions; re-shelves library and archival materials. In addition, he maintains the library donations log; prepares thank you letters for donors; prepares and sets up equipment for educational workshop presentations; provides assistance with technical equipment; and assists with the updating of the DSI Library blog.
