Enrollment

What are the requirements for being an ASAP Student?

You must be able to confirm that you have fulfilled all the following requirements:

  • Accepted to CCNY as a Transfer student who has obtained an associate degree
  • Are registered full-time status (12 Credits or more)
  • Completed no more than 80 credits
  • You are New York State resident and/or eligible for in-state tuition
  • Declared in a CCNY ASAP-eligible major, 
  • Completed the and the New York State  application.

What is the process for applying to ASAP?

  1. You must attend an Info Session
  2. Fill out an application (Given at the info session)
  3. Attend Orientation
  4. Complete the Commitment Form. 

Once you have completed the commitment form, please allow 1-2 weeks for your enrollment decision.

Is having an Associate Degree necessary?

Yes. You must have an Associate Degree to be an ASAP student, whether it is an Associate in Arts (A.A), Associate in Science( A.S), or an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S)

 

Majors/Minors

My major is not listed as an eligible major, should I still apply?

Yes, we can consider other majors on a case by case basis. 

I have two majors but only one is eligible, Should I still apply?

Yes. When applying to ASAP, please use the eligible major as your primary option. However, keep in mind you will still need to be able to graduate within the allotted 2 years (4 semesters)

I have a major and a minor. My major is ineligible but my minor is. Should I still apply?

No, your major must be eligible for ASAP, not your minor. 

Advisement

Does ASAP provide an advisor?

Yes, You will have your very own ASAP advisor who will guide you to complete your bachelors within 2 years. 

How often do I have to meet with the ASAP Advisor?

You must meet with your ASAP advisor once a month in a one-to-one session. 

How do I schedule an appointment with my ASAP Advisor?

Once accepted into the ASAP Program, you will have access to make an appointment through your CUNYfirst's Navigate Portal. 

Do I have to still have to see my departmental advisor?

Yes, your ASAP Advisor does not replace your departmental advisor. Your ASAP Advisor is a supplemental advisor who guides your academic progress to graduate in 2 years.
