Profile
Katherine Mendis is the Course Director for the Introduction to Biomedical Ethics course and is responsible for developing and administering the vertically- and horizontally-integrated ethics component of the BS/MD curriculum at the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education/CUNY School of Medicine (CSOM).She also serves as a Problem-Based Learning case facilitator and teaches the Biomedical Ethics/Responsible Conduct of Research course in the Masters in Translational Medicine program. Prof. Mendis has comprehensive experience teaching philosophy and bioethics to undergraduates, graduate students, and medical students; consulting on clinical ethics cases; and providing training and quality improvement initiatives to health care institutions鈥 ethics consultation services. She is a member of the Ethics Committee at St. Barnabas Hospital.
