A new endowed scholarship, the Norman Klein Scholarship, has been created to support graduate students in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at T��ɫ��Ƶ. The scholarship, which is pending CUNY Board of Trustees approval, will provide expenses for recipients, which may include tuition and fees, as well as support for students to participate in national project competitions. Alumnus Henry Calle journeyed from Ecuador to the United States at 16 years old with the dream of pursuing higher education but had to work to help his parents. Jeff Morris, director of the Benjamin Levich Institute for Physico-Chemical Hydrodynamics in T��ɫ��Ƶ’s Grove School of Engineering, is the 2022 recipient of the Weissenberg Award from the European Society of Rheology (ESR). Ricardo Polanco, an Honors student at T��ɫ��Ƶ majoring in civil engineering, is one of 24 Americans selected as Minority Student Fellows by the Washington, D.C.-based Transportation Research Board (TRB), a program unit of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. Born in Manhattan of Dominican immigrant parents, Polanco is the only Fellow from the East Coast north of Maryland State.
