The Grove School of Engineering at T��ɫ��Ƶ is a regional co-sponsor and host of the New York City Tech to Protect Challenge, a national hackathon designed to help emergency responders—including EMS, firefighters and police—accomplish their mission to serve and protect communities nationwide. In a huge boost to his quest to offer mobility to people with lower limb disabilities, City College of New York mechanical engineer Hao Su is the recipient of a $1.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. It will advance his work on a hybrid soft exoskeleton that combines the advantages of rigid exoskeletons and textile-based exosuits to overcome lower-limb impairments, particularly in seniors. Jeffrey Morris, director of the Benjamin Levich Institute for Physico-Chemical Hydrodynamics at T��ɫ��Ƶ, is the recipient of the American Physical Society’s 2019 Stanley Corrsin Award. The prize recognizes a recent achievement of especially high impact and significance, a particular discovery, or an innovation in the field. Morris is cited by the College Park, Maryland-based APS for: “outstanding contributions that elucidate the microscopic basis of the flow properties of suspensions, and their influence on macroscopic flow phenomena.” He will receive the award and present

T��ɫ��Ƶ’s Grove School of Engineering is offering a new Master’s Program in Data Science and Engineering to address the growing demand for data science and data engineering skills in government and industry. The new program, administered by the Computer Science Department, prepares students to analyze, process, visualize and apply machine learning and computational statistics to problems in engineering, science, and many other disciplines. A key feature of the program is the required capstone master’s project or thesis. Within the program, students will apply the data
