Alpha Amadou Bah, Arielle Brutus and Taisha Gomez were t��ɫ��Ƶ winners at the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students. The undergraduates from the Division of Science and Grove School of Engineering excelled in e-poster presentations at “.”&�Բ�����;

More than 3,350 undergraduate, postbaccalaureate, and graduate students in the STEM fields, as well as postdoctoral scientists at ABRCMS, participated in the event.

Following are details on the CCNY trio at ABRCMS, their disciplines and project titles: 

• Alpha Amadou Bah, junior, electrical engineering; computational and systems biology, “Structure-Based Characterization of TRPM8 Modulators Using Computer-Aided Molecular Design”;
   
• Arielle Brutus, senior, biology; social and behavioral and public health, “Surviving Breast Cancer Can Be Sexy!  Women’s Sexual Concerns During and After Breast Cancer Treatment”; and
   
• Taisha Gomez, junior, biology; social and behavioral and public health, “Redressing Access to and Disparities in Immunotherapy: A Qualitative Analysis.”

is one of the largest, professional conferences for underrepresented minority students, military veterans, and persons with disabilities to pursue advanced training in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Annually, ABRCMS attracts more than 4,000 individuals, including 2,150 undergraduate and post baccalaureate students, 400 graduate students and postdoctoral scientists and 450 faculty, program directors and administrators. Students come from more than 350 U.S. colleges and universities.
