09-28-2020 Voter Registration Memo

Dear Members and Friends of the City College Community:

You must be registered to vote by October 9, 2020 (online, by mail and in-person) to be able to vote in the November 3 General Election.

Here is how you can register:

  • A personalized NYS voter registration form is available through your .
  • The website has a downloadable that can be printed and mailed to a .
  • Register to vote online through the portal with your most recent NYS issued ID. Please visit their website for more information. 
  • Mailed applications must be postmarked no later than October 9 and received by a by October 14.

Are you prepared to vote?  Decide how you will vote and do so as early as possible to avoid delays. 

  • Verify your for the General Election.
  • NYS registered voters have three options to vote in the General Election:
    • Absentee Voting
      • All registered voters can request an absentee ballot (under the "temporary illness" option) if they have concerns related to CVOID-19.  Request a Ballot by October 27 ().
      • Mail (postmarked by November 3) or drop off your completed and signed ballot no later than November 3.
    • Vote Early 
      • The in-person Early Voting period is October 24 – November 1.  Check you for days and hours of operation.
    • Vote in-person on Election Day, November 3
      • Polls are open from 6:00 am – 9:00 pm.  Check your location.

In an effort to engage CUNY students and young people in our communities around elections, CUNY has collaborated with in the .  The campaign aims to get students to Take the Pledge to Vote, and to sign up to receive election alerts and reminders to help them stay involved and engaged around voting and elections.
