Committee on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA+)
The Division of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences at the City College Center for Worker Education (CCNY CWE) works in conjunction with the President鈥檚 Council on Inclusive Excellence to incorporate 鈥渢he full diversity of backgrounds, traditions, and experience of faculty staff, and students in realizing the goal of an inclusive community that values excellence in scholarship, creative arts, teaching and learning and student development.鈥 These aims are given special attention due to CWE鈥檚 historic mission of establishing relationships with labor unions, community-based organizations, city agencies, and employers in both the non-profit and private sectors who share this educational mission. CWE鈥檚 Committee on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) also seeks to implement the President鈥檚 mission to 鈥渆ncourage inclusiveness in hiring: fairness in faculty retention, tenure, and promotion; and provision of equal opportunity for all faculty and staff to use, on their merits, to leadership positions.鈥
