In this talk, we’ll explore how the rise of artificial intelligence challenges our understanding of reality and truth while presenting profound opportunities for creativity and societal transformation. Drawing from insights from thinkers like philosopher Charles Taylor and C.S. Lewis, this talk will reframe AI not as a threat but as a tool for enlivening work. We’ll consider how an "enchanted" vision can guide the development of AI in ways that expand our sense of possibility, amplifying human flourishing and nurturing a social imagination that inspires a hope that resists despair.  

Bio:  David Kim is the CEO and co-founder of Goldenwood, a non-profit whose mission is to cultivate a new vision of work. Over the past several decades, Rev. Dr. David Kim has trained, consulted, and coached hundreds of leaders and organizations in developing a robust, meaningful integration of faith and work, focusing on technology and, more recently, on generative artificial intelligence.  In 2016, under David’s direction, the Center for Faith and Work hosted a conference on “The Wonder and Fear of Technology,” where David was the general editor for a collection of essays on faith and technology published for that occasion. Since then, David has been invited to be on the Advisory Board of “AI and Faith,” where he's contributes essays.  He wrote a chapter in the recently published Faithful AI: Stories of Hope from 2045.  David enjoys helping individuals and organizations thoughtfully engage this emerging technology in community through quarterly workshops on a distinctively hopeful approach to AI.
